About Us

Chicago-based Jellyvision is an interface design company with a lengthy track record of creating highly immersive, award-winning, best-selling interactive games and experiences.  Our expertise lies in creating intelligent interfaces that simulate human conversation.  We call our form of interactivity the Interactive Conversation Interface, or “iCi” (rhymes with “Jonathan LipnICKI”).  iCi allows machines to interact with individuals with such seamless pacing and awareness, such personality and wit, that it feels like a real person is just behind the machine.  iCi seemingly brings machines to life.

Using iCi, Jellyvision has created one of the most critically acclaimed interactive franchises of all time: YOU DON'T KNOW JACK.  Originally developed in 1995, JACK became an instant bestseller and redefined the trivia game market for adults with its direct response interactivity and comedic fusion of high culture with pop culture (and fart sound effects). The franchise now includes over a dozen products including 11 CD-ROMs, two PlayStation titles, a tabletop version, two books, an energy drink, a line of eveningwear for chimpanzees, and a short-lived television show on ABC.  With over 4.5 million units sold, multiple local versions in the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Greenland and Germany, and more than 50 major industry awards, YDKJ is one of the most successful gaming franchises ever.

Jellyvision also brought a virtual Regis Philbin to life using iCi, when we designed and developed the original Who Wants to be a Millionaire CD-ROM for Disney Interactive.  An instant smash, that CD-ROM was the fastest selling CD-ROM of all time.  We then developed WWTBAM Second Edition, also to record sales. Unfortunately, the virtual Regis escaped soon after, and hasn’t been heard from since.

Beyond these flagship games, Jellyvision is developing a roster of interactive properties that will mesmerize audiences with easy-to-use, impossible-to-ignore conversational interactivity, Hollywood production values, and humor. When these projects are completed, Jellyvision will then unleash its army of iCi robots on the world and, soon, peace and order shall be restored.
