Here's the news!

You can now play two (2) YOU DON'T KNOW JACK episodes each week, which is made up of seven (7) days. The episodes will air on Monday (as usual) and Friday (unusual). This means that some months, a month being anywhere between twenty-eight (28) and thirty-one (31) days, except in leap years, you'll get eight (8) episodes of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK! However, given the placement of the days on the calendar, you could get up to nine (9) episodes in a month, of which, by the way, there are twelve (12) in a year. We know what you're thinking. Isn't it possible to get ten (10) episodes in a month, which can be up to four-point-four-two-eight-five-seven-one-four (4.4285714) weeks? The simple answer is no. Even if a month were to begin on, say, a Friday, the final day of that month would, at most, be a Sunday. So you'd still only get nine (9) episodes in that month - but it would be exciting if that month were July, because the next month (August) would begin on a Monday, which would mean that THAT month would also have nine (9) episodes. Any way you slice it, it's pretty fun math.

So, enjoy the two (2) episodes of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK per week. And if you find yourself at any time not enjoying it as much as you'd hoped, we ask that you kindly recall the total amount of dollars that you're paying for it, which is zero (0).

Love,
Jellyvision

P.S. Great news though! Thank you JV for breaking it down for us like that! Ha, I just thought it would randomly occur twice a week.

I'm Surprised RULZ didn't have to read this like three times to get a perfect score. I don't know. I was enjoying listening to everyone complain about him/her. I think I'll miss that.

I'm so sad. But now, for your Tuesday pleasure.

Cookie Sandwiches are delicious! Score: $4213 ranking: 1/9. This is an easy/simple & Dis or Dat, just decide if it's a YDKJ Host, a type of sweet or BOTH. Yes Cookie, we know that you are a great host, but guys, his name is COOKIE. He's a sweet, too!

God, I hate him.

HAHA! Beautiful... just,

Awesome job.

You guys as Jellyvision

You guys as Jellyvision should maybe stop making YDKJ games online for a while. Maybe focus on making an entirely new game. Take all the time in the world.... ;)

Will there be a test on this later? I hope not; I'm so hopeless with math.

Yes, losing the DoD is sad, but I think I'm going to like two episodes a week more. A Cookie sandwich? Tasty! But . . . who's the ice cream in the middle?

There was a story a few

There was a story a few weeks back in the business press saying that Yahoo had just signed some kind of deal to "resurrect" You Don't Know Jack. I don't know what they're planning to do with it, but it's nice to hear.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks for the heads-up. Apparently YDKJ has struggled to build an audience (which is a real shame) but Yahoo have signed on to distribute the games on their casual games network. Hopefully, for us as well as them, this will make YDKJ more of a paying proposition for Jellyvision. Much as we love to hate him, it's not Rulz that killed the daily DoD. Cranking those suckers out takes a lot of resources, and they've obviously given up (for the time being only, I hope) on it being worth their while.

I think that article hits it

I think that article hits it on the head. People are so busy with the popular MMOs and in my opinion (way over used for the most part) casual genre to care about late 90's era classics from Sierra, Bezerk and Dynamix. Also it wouldn't have hurt if either PC Gamer or Computer Gaming World (aka the now defunct Games for Windows magazine) gave them a nod. Jellyvision you are one of a kind!

By the way, an online

By the way, an online confirmation of this can be found here and here. No worries, no rickrolls.

Pissed about a Jellyvision

Pissed about a Jellyvision post!

Here are two (2) ways you can get ten (10) episodes in a thirty-one (31) day month that starts on a Friday:
1. If Jellyvision posts the Friday episode [on the first (1) first (1) of the month] later than it posts the Monday episode [on the second (2) first of the month].
2. Play one (1) or more of the nine (9) scheduled ones at your current position and travel west one (1) or more time zones or east across the International Date line to play the remainder; i.e. you could play the first (1) episode on the first (1) in the Second (2) City, Chicago, at midnight (12) CST and fly to Los Angeles to play nine (9) more episodes, finishing your tenth (10) episode at ten (10) past ten (10) [10:10] PM PST on Sunday the 31st (31).

In an analogous way, you can get only seven (7) episodes in February if Jellyvision posts late or you travel east across a time zone or west across the International Date Line.

All of this is moot if you are Superman.

Well, the tumbleweeds that

Well, the tumbleweeds that roll from Tuesday to Thursday will feel unusual at first, but hey, every monday and friday game: they're all worth the wait, right?

Totally off topic:

weird eye easter egg glitch thing: go down to his cheek bone to get the fire eyes, click and hold the mouse, move up to the bridge of his nose, release the mouse then click again, he'll roll white eyes and then, assuming you move the mouse away from cross eyes position, one will be white, and one will be stuck firey... if that makes any sense.. and hasn't been mentioned a millionion times before...

I get impatient while it loads...

Neat trick: the one-eyed

Neat trick: the one-eyed Jack.

Other than making his pupils dilate you scroll over the 'JACK' with your mouse, I don't think there are any other eggs on the load screen.

Something interesting I found though was that Cookie's intro and all the DoD questions (not the answers) are buried in the source code for the page. So if you ever want a transcript of a DoD, it's there for you.

Also there's this bit of code which appears in every DoD:

Moose. Floppy nose moose.

Must be some kind of in-joke.

I'd not noticed the source,

I'd not noticed the source, that's ace...

I'd noticed the dilating, but I couldn't spot what would cause it, thanks for clearing that up.

Wow, I never thought of what

Wow, I never thought of what would happen once this site goes out of beta. I think I'd actually get a bank account and a card just to be able to play. I love YDKJ like a fat kid loves his cookie (no offense to Cookie :P)

Thanks for (4) what you

Thanks for (4) what you having done (d1) this much Jellyvision. I would give you a high five (5) but I intend (in10d) to (2) just stay here.

It's also nice to get two

It's also nice to get two free episodes every week without a zillion popups... do you have any free, already-won X boxes I can try to claim to make myself feel better?

Monday and *Thursday* would

Monday and *Thursday* would really be ideal. But hey, I'll take Friday.

Wish more people had paid to
