Big News in JellylandDear YDKJ online players, the Pope, our old intern Nate and his elephant-spouse Tiny, Britney Spears, the people of the Mosquito Coast, Pat Sajak, that one guy we used in all those pictures, and all the animals that were harmed in the making of our game (especially the marmot): For the past 21 months or so, we've been honored to make our online game for you, about you, or via exploitation of you. For a free Beta version, we feel we've provided at least a $2-$3 value. And we're proud of that. Completely out of money, but proud. Seriously, last week we ate cheese sandwiches without the cheese. Or the sandwich. We just stared at lifelike drawings of cheese sandwiches and made eating gestures with our hands and mouths. You'd be surprised, it actually works a little. But be that as it may, we've decided to actually try to make some money with this thing. We're working hard on getting this game out to the masses - not that the 1,000 or so of you who play every week don't qualify as "the masses." We're just really, really hungry. So, hopefully, in the upcoming weeks, you'll hear some real big news about a real big deal we've made with some real bigshots who can help get YOU DON'T KNOW JACK back to where it belongs - in the home of every living man, woman, and child, and most elves. And for all of our loyal viewers, and we know who you are, we promise to give you a token of our appreciation. Stay tuned. Since we'll need all of our resources to devote to this and other ventures in bringing new and exciting Jellyvision games to the world - and this is that news we promised - our online episodes will be coming to a halt at Episode 100. That's five more episodes, starting now. And then, well... the world shall be our oyster once again. Then we can eat the world, because like we said, we're hungry, even though we don't like oysters all that much. Enjoy the final five episodes, and for Pete's sake, stop staring at us like that. Thanks, everybody. The old episodes are allSubmitted by NPLDart on Sun, 2008-09-07 22:46.

I am actually really REALLLY happy about this news! Not that I don't love the free online episodes, because I do, but because I have been wanting a new YDKJ game for a long *really really really real* long time. Ok, it hasn't been that long since a new one was made, but it feels like it. And please have Cookie do the whole thing! I have to be honest (and since you may actually read this, sincere) but I didn't even play through some of the parts of previous games when I didn't like the host. 'S true. I'll have some money waiting to buy the new game. And even though there won't be new episodes, would you kind sirs still put new updates here? I'll be watching! I have a feeling this has to do with YDKJ coming back in a non-flash form, like I read about in August. http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/19/jellyvision-getting-back-into-the-games-biz/ Well... I'll miss losing this from my biweekly routine, but to download YDKJ for XBox Live with downloadable question packs will be doubleplusgood in my book. Um... am I the only one here that doesn't own a console? While I have nothing against my console owning chums, I sincerely hope the new version of YDKJ will remember the platform on which it rightfully belongs. Cookie, Schmitty, Guy, Nate (YDKJ 1)... whoever is hosting I'll see you guys there. Let us know when the new item is here and I'll be more then happy to buy you guys a T-Bone or two. It's the least I can do for roughly 11 years of fun. (I'll save my speech for #100) I do own consoles, the WiiSubmitted by anivasion on Mon, 2008-09-08 18:30.
I do own consoles, the Wii and Xbox 360, but I would still prefer for the game to have a download option off of the internet like the new Sam and Max did and Strongbad games are going to have. Granted though, the latter is designed for the online browser ON the Wii. I don't own a console, but ISubmitted by sinusoidally on Tue, 2008-09-09 14:21.
I don't own a console, but I do have an NES system and a C64 emulator. Oh, and a PC. Right. Well, I'm bummed. Not because I need to get YDKJ for free, but because I work (and play) on a Mac. I have five YDKJ CDs that used to function Mac but don't work with OSX - in fact, I held on to my old computer just so I could play YDKJ - but I mostly relied on the online version for my fix. I just recently found this and having been working my way through the episodes...I hope they will be hosted for a little bit after the 100th one is posted. Regardless, I greatly appreciate the revival and all of the fun of these episodes. I also await with bated breath and open wallet whatever YDKJ format will be coming next. In my college days, a friend and I literally stayed up all night two different nights within a one week period to finish YDKJ: The Ride...that's the only video game that I've ever done that for, and I've played a lot of 'em. (And yes, I'm one of the people who correctly answered, without hesitation, the Impossible Question in YDKJ3 asking what color the eyes were on the YDKJ Sports box.) Side note: I'm surprised no one has mentioned Acrophobia here yet...I would SO pay large amounts of money to see that revived, updated, and brought back to the masses. In my mind, it was a real textbook for online social game design, and really doesn't need to be changed much...my heart would skip several beats to hear of its imminent return.
